As an experienced tutor in teaching GCSE and A-Level students in maths and science, I focus on developing a deep understanding of the material, independent problem-solving skills, and the ability to apply knowledge effectively to gain marks in exams. I also prepare students for further study beyond GCSE and A-Level by strengthening their analytical thinking and confidence in STEM subjects. I emphasise true understanding rather than rote memorisation, ensuring students are ready to tackle questions that go beyond simple recall and match the style of real GCSE and A-Level exams. During lessons, I break down complex maths and science concepts into clear, manageable steps and use real-life examples to make ideas easier to grasp. I encourage students to ask questions even those that go beyond the syllabus so they can develop a broader understanding of the bigger picture in STEM. Once students have built a solid understanding of the content, I regularly work through past paper questions to help them apply their knowledge in real exam contexts and learn how to structure answers in the way examiners expect. Typical lesson length is 1–2 hours, depending on the student’s needs and goals.
