About Joseph
My own performance career has lead to chamber and orchestral appearances at Aldeburgh Festival, BBC Proms, Royal Festival Hall, Barbican Hall, Cadogan Hall, King’s Place, Bozar Brussels, Berlin Konzerthaus, First Light Festival, St. Endellion Festival, Cowbridge Music Festival and Gstaad Festival, with solo appearances at the Wigmore Hall, St Georges Hall, Bristol and more.
I recently graduated with Distinction from the MA Music (Ethnomusicology Pathway) course at SOAS, London. This followed a first-class BMus degree in music at King's College London. I believe this academic grounding plays a key role in informing my teaching practice.
I've worked with some wonderful teachers during my time at the Yehudi Menuhin School, Royal College of Music and Royal Academy of Music. These include Prof. Clio Gould, Prof. Gabrielle Lester and Prof. Boris Kucharsky. I have also played in masterclasses with musicians such as Stephan Picard, Alexey Igudesman (of Igudesman and Joo), Paul Coker, Carolin Widmann, Paul Watkins, Andras Keller and Sebastian Schmidt.
I regularly play with pop and folk artists and am also happy to offer coaching for this.

I am a flexible and experienced violin teacher offering lessons carefully tailored to your specific needs. Whether it's regular classes you're looking for or just a one-off session, I offer a thoughtful, engaging and rigorous teaching approach.
I teach people of all levels and ages, having worked as a private violin tutor for a number of years. I have given workshops and taught the violin in schools around the country, and enjoy running an annual chamber music course for young musicians in South Wales.
