About Amira
I first have experience as a violin teacher in London working in Chingford House School, a local nursery. I then went on to do freelance private teaching jobs, mostly with family friends and school students. Then, whilst I resided in birmingham, I taught 6 students freelance for 3 years.
I have a degree in music from the University of Birmingham, where I specialised in Violin performance and ethnomusicology. I play with a freelance string quartet in Walthamstow, and have had the pleasure of working for the birmingham royal ballet royal ballet sinfonia, supporting the 2023 European Strings Teachers Association conference, playing principal violin for Underscore (ethnic minority orchestra in the midlands), as well as multiple university credentials (conducting string orchestra, co-principle for Philharmonic orchestra), Violin 1 in CBSO Youth Orchestra etc.
I love music, and I believe that music education is vital to everyone. I enjoy teaching and seeing my students progress, and engaging in being a small joy within their lives. I am a strong advocate for the inclusion and diversity of classical music, and I hope that resonates with my students.

My classes are bright and insightful, if you are a beginner we will start from the instrument, I will guide you in positioning, holding it, understanding pitch and getting used to the fingering whilst silmultameously providing you with varied repertoire and music to listen to each week.
I work with the fiddle time joggers, runners, and sprinters books for beginners. And, I primarily then work through the ABRSM grades with students, and can pick them up from wherever they are.
I am keen to be responsive to the interests of my students, and typically inject fun through providing them with arrangements of music they enjoy to play on a monthly basis.
I write feedback during the lesson in the students violin journal each class, and depending on the wish of the student can leave weekly homework (I am more flexible and lenient with my adult students when it comes to ensuring they have completed their homework!)
For Violin I can provide 30 minute, 45 minutes and 1 hour classes. Younger students tend to experience learning better with a shorter class.
