About Amy
I have been singing and performing since age 4, and absolutely love teaching the skill of vocal performance. In the past, I have been the vocal coach for the pop girls group The Swag Girlz from New York City, where we were honored to perform our original song "New Money" at the Barclays Center opening for the New York Nets. During the day, I'm a middle school classroom teacher with 10 years of experience. I have a Master's Degree in Secondary English Education from CUNY Brooklyn College, where I also taught as an adjunct professor of education. I am a New Yorker at heart, but moved to sunny California in 2022. I currently work for LAUSD, teaching ESL newcomers. I also direct the school's Glee Club. I love all things Broadway, early 2000's pop music, and my three cats who LOVE to sing with me when I rehearse at home. Lessons can take place at a private studio in Commerce, CA, at my apartment in Koreatown, or I can come to you!

Our lessons typically include vocal warm ups and technique, song mastery to create a repertoire, and an audio recording of your session so you can practice at home.
I specialize in teaching beginners so there is no prior experience required! I focus mainly on musical theatre and pop vocals.
As a student I will be finding performance opportunities for you as well as working with you to create audio and visual recordings of your repertoire.

Details
Contracts are a month to month commitment, and payment is due on the first of every month. Payments made for a full month's worth of lessons are discounted at $20 for the month. Make up sessions are allowed as long as cancellations happen within 24 hours before our lesson.
