About Jacqui
I have one year of experience as a writing tutor at the Marian E. Wright writing center, and two years of experience as an English as a second language paraprofessional. In 2020, I earned my bachelor's degree in English, specializing in writing, and a certification in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). I also study writing practice, as developed by Natalie Goldberg, and participate in at least one writing course per year. In my free time I like to read. My favorite authors are Sarah J. Maas, Hank Green, and Ernest Cline.

As a former ESL paraprofessional, I'm passionate about the success of English Language Learners. I love working with students in 6-12 grade, and adult writers are always welcome!
Something important to know about me is that I'm not just an editor- I'm a tutor! My goal is to help you become a better writer, not just to have a good paper. I believe that you have the answers you need, I'm simply there to guide you along the path. You can expect me to ask you about your goals, intentions, and ideas- I like to focus on the big picture first, then work our way down to the small bits like grammar and spelling. I can help you brain-storm topics, make an outline, organize or reorganize, and of course edit for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and other mechanics. I'm also experienced with MLA and APA formatting.
About my fee:
30$/hour may seem steep, but I often spend about an hour preparing for our session! Therefore I am doing two hours of work, breaking the cost down to 15$/hour. This prep time translates into a richer and more successful session for you.
