About Sarah
Hi, I’m Sarah, a neuroscience student at Washington University in St. Louis with a deep love for learning and connecting with people. I currently teach dance to children with cerebral palsy and older adults with neurodegenerative diseases where I bring that same patience, creativity, and care into every tutoring session. Whether we are working on writing, math, science, or college essays, I strive to make learning feel personal, engaging, and confidence-boosting. Outside of tutoring, I love cooking (especially sushi!), drinking mint tea, dancing, exploring farmers' markets, playing Rummikub and Colorku, and spending time outdoors with my goldendoodle, Penny. I am passionate about helping students feel supported and inspired, both in their schoolwork and in themselves.

As a tutor, I combine creativity, empathy, and neuroscience based strategies to make learning both effective and enjoyable. I have worked with students of all ages, from young children to teens, through tutoring, camp counseling, and ESL programs, and I have learned that no two learners are the same. That is why I tailor each session to the individual: there’s no one-size-fits-all lesson plan.
Whether we are tackling writing, math, science, or brainstorming ideas for a college essay, I focus on keeping students engaged and confident. I am especially passionate about working with students who learn differently; those with ADHD, learning differences, or who simply need a new way to connect with the material.
A typical session might include breaking down tricky concepts into digestible pieces, using analogies and creative tools, and building a supportive space where students feel safe to ask questions and explore ideas. I bring lots of energy and patience and aim to make learning feel more like a conversation than a chore.
I tutor all core subjects for students in 8th grade and younger, and I offer writing support, including editing, idea generation, and creative exploration, for students of any age. I am also happy to help with psychology, biology, algebra through pre-calc, and college essay development.
If you are a learner who thrives with a tutor who listens, adapts, and loves helping students discover what makes them light up, I would love to meet you!
