About Thomas
I spend a lot of time researching ASL and understand how to be deaf while signing in ASL. I started signing in ASL when I was in the first grade and continue signing in ASL. After I finished my college, I realized that I had to work on ASL. I have consulted a variety of ASL-related sources, including online videos and books. As for ASL lessons, ASL dictionaries, English dictionaries, cultures, history, thesauruses, and dictionaries of English idioms are my main sources. As for that reason, I am strong in ASL.

I am an accomplished Deaf researcher and tutor specialized in American Sign Language (ASL). I have studied and explained how ASL sentences are structured, how to choose right ASL signs while considering definitions and cultures, and how to apply body language to ASL. I pay attention to structures of English sentences as I change these English sentences to ASL sentences; for example, I cannot ignore commas because I want to avoid confusions over meanings of these ASL sentences.
According to your preferences, I can design lessons. I can provide the ASL manual alphabet, lists of numbers and words for you to sign in ASL, lists of English sentences, lists of definitions for you to choose while you are considering which ASL sign is correct, lists of handshapes that ASL signs use. I can bring pictures to you to identify ASL signs and explain how to apply cultural and historical considerations to ASL.
I started tutoring in ASL in 2005 as part of my community service required for Kappa Sigma at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). There, I had earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree. In 2017, I started tutoring adult students on my own. When I do not hold lessons with students, I continue polishing my expertise in ASL by studying videos that show how English sentences are interpreted in ASL, interpreting English sentences of a variety of structures in ASL, consulting ASL dictionaries and English dictionaries to maintain accurate ASL signs, and researching cultures and history to ensure correct ASL signs.
It is my belief that ASL should not depend on order of appearance of English words. It is important to pay attention to meanings of English words as ASL is used.
