About Cynthia
My lessons focus on the power of data and how it shapes the world around us. I teach students how to read, understand, and work with data in a clear and meaningful way. From mastering graphing techniques to performing basic statistical analysis, you’ll learn how to turn numbers into insights. We’ll explore real-world studies and interesting datasets from areas like health, business, and social trends. This keeps the learning practical, useful, and even fun. I break down complex ideas into simple steps, helping you understand what the numbers really mean. If you’ve ever felt unsure about math or found data confusing, you’re not alone—and you're in the right place. I’m here to guide you patiently, with lessons that build both skill and confidence. Many of my students start out hesitant, but soon begin to enjoy discovering patterns and making sense of information. My teaching helps educators sharpen their data skills and supports learners who want to overcome past struggles with math. We’ll work together to strengthen your quantitative reasoning, which is key for both school and career.

With over 7 years of experience and an MSc in Computational Mathematics, I specialize in making math accessible to everyone—especially those from non-STEM backgrounds. I’ve worked closely with liberal arts students, humanities scholars, and learners who’ve long carried math anxiety. My approach is holistic: I focus on the why behind mathematical ideas, not just the how. I use everyday analogies and real-life parallels to illuminate complex theories. Whether it’s understanding the logic of trigonometry through music or exploring number patterns through history, I bring math to life in unexpected ways. I often introduce the historical evolution of a concept to show its purpose and relevance. This opens the door for richer understanding and deeper engagement. Big ideas like infinity, symmetry, and change are not just mathematical—they're part of how we interpret the world. I help students appreciate these connections. Every session is designed to build clarity, confidence, and curiosity. I make room for questions, hesitations, and even past frustrations.
