About Ellis

I am an experienced Economics tutor with 13 years of teaching students at all levels, from school to university. Over the years, I have successfully guided around 150–200 students, helping them excel in exams, assignments, and real-world applications of economics.

My teaching philosophy is simple and student-centered. I believe that Economics is best learned when students understand the reasoning behind concepts, not just memorizing facts. I focus on building strong foundations in microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics, while also introducing related areas such as development economics, international trade, public finance, and behavioral economics. I break complex ideas into simple, relatable examples so that students can see how economic principles apply to real life.

I emphasize critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills. My sessions are interactive and collaborative, where students are encouraged to ask questions, discuss ideas, and challenge assumptions. I ensure each student progresses at their own pace, giving extra guidance when needed and celebrating their achievements along the way.

One of my key achievements has been helping students develop confidence in Economics, transforming many from struggling learners to independent thinkers capable of analyzing policies, markets, and data. I take pride in seeing my students succeed academically and grow their understanding of how Economics shapes the world.

I am dedicated to making Economics accessible, engaging, and practical, inspiring students to enjoy learning and apply their knowledge with confidence in their studies and future careers.

My teaching approach in Economics is focused on clarity, understanding, and practical application. I teach school and university students, helping them build a strong foundation in core subjects like microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics. I also cover related areas such as development economics, international trade, behavioral economics, and public finance to give learners a broader perspective.

I believe in making economics relatable by connecting concepts to real-life situations. Students learn to analyze markets, policies, and global trends through examples and case studies. I guide them in understanding graphs, models, and quantitative methods so that they can approach problems logically and critically.

Diplomacy and open-mindedness are key in my teaching. I encourage students to ask questions, challenge ideas, and explore multiple perspectives. Accountability is important, so I ensure that learners follow a structured path, complete assignments, and track their progress effectively. I create a supportive environment where students feel confident to express doubts and develop analytical skills.

My sessions are interactive and collaborative. I use discussions, exercises, and problem-solving tasks to reinforce concepts. I also help students prepare for exams, assignments, and research projects, ensuring they can apply their knowledge independently.

Overall, my goal is to help students not only understand economic theories but also think like economists, make informed decisions, and develop skills that are useful in academics and real life. I aim to foster curiosity, critical thinking, and a deeper appreciation for how economics shapes our world.
