About Rowan
I am a passionate flute tutor with 15+ years of experience teaching students from school to college level, and I believe that music has the power to shape confidence, creativity, and self-discipline. My journey with the flute started as a simple interest, but over time it became a meaningful part of my life that I now love sharing with others.
Over the years, I have worked with many students, helping them grow from beginners into confident performers. One of my proudest achievements has been seeing students who once felt nervous perform on stage with confidence and joy. My teaching style is simple, patient, and structured, focusing on essential skills such as breathing control, finger coordination, tone clarity, and rhythm accuracy.
I also make sure that lessons are engaging and enjoyable so students stay motivated and consistent in their practice. I believe every student has unique abilities, and my goal is to guide them with dedication and help them build both musical skills and a lifelong connection with music.

My teaching approach for flute is based on Motivation, Communication, Integrity, and Creativity to help students learn with confidence and clarity. I aim to create a positive and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable and motivated. I begin by understanding each student’s goals and level so I can design lessons that suit them best.
I motivate students by appreciating their efforts and encouraging consistent practice. Communication plays an important role in my teaching, as I explain techniques like breath control, finger placement, posture, and tone quality in a simple and easy-to-understand way. With integrity, I focus on building strong fundamentals and guiding students honestly.
I correct mistakes patiently and help them improve step by step. Creativity helps me make lessons engaging through songs, exercises, and interactive learning methods. Along with flute, I also teach music theory, rhythm, and ear training to support complete development.
