About Lyra

About the lesson

I’m a passionate French tutor with over 7 years of experience and a BA in French for Tourism and Hospitality. My specialty lies in helping high school and university students who find French film analysis and dialogue writing challenging. I take a creative approach by breaking down complex cinematic language into simple, digestible steps. This way, students can grasp subtle meanings and cultural nuances without feeling overwhelmed.

I love guiding students to write with clarity and expression, transforming their ideas into compelling narratives. French New Wave and contemporary cinema inspire me deeply, and I often bring elements of critical theory into lessons to enrich understanding. These films aren’t just entertainment — they’re windows into culture, history, and language.

My goal is to make film analysis approachable and enjoyable. I want my students to feel confident discussing directors, themes, and cinematic techniques.
