About Ian
I believe every student can become a confident guitarist with the right guidance and consistent practice. My lessons create a supportive environment where learners are encouraged to explore music, develop creativity, and build lasting confidence.
With a Bachelor's Degree and 14 years of teaching experience, I have helped students strengthen their guitar techniques, expand their musical knowledge, and improve performance skills through structured, engaging, and personalized instruction.
My goal is to inspire students to enjoy learning while achieving their individual musical aspirations. I am committed to helping every learner develop strong fundamentals, expressive playing skills, and a lifelong passion for guitar.

My teaching approach combines technical development with creative learning to help students become confident and versatile guitarists. I use interactive demonstrations, structured exercises, and performance-based activities that make every lesson engaging, practical, and rewarding.
Students study acoustic guitar, electric guitar, chord voicings, fingerstyle techniques, rhythm guitar, lead guitar, alternate and hybrid picking, scales, modes, music theory, ear training, improvisation, songwriting, ensemble playing, recording techniques, and stage performance.
I tailor every lesson to the student's experience, musical interests, and long-term goals. Through personalised coaching, progress tracking, and focused practice routines, students build technical precision, musical creativity, confidence, and the ability to perform with expression.
