About Caoimhe

I am a native Irish speaker and proud Cork woman who completed all of my primary and secondary education through the medium of Irish, including sitting all of my Leaving Certificate examinations through Gaeilge. I recently graduated from University College Cork with a Bachelor of Science in Ecology and Environmental Biology and am currently studying for my Master's degree in Marine Biology in Stockholm.

I am passionate about learning, teaching, and inspiring confidence in others. As someone who has experienced the benefits of growing up through Irish, I want my students to develop not only strong language skills but also a genuine appreciation for the language and our culture. My goal is to help every student become a confident, fluent, and expressive Irish speaker while achieving their academic goals.

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy ballet, Irish dancing, Gaelic football, crocheting, and scrapbooking my travels. I believe learning should be engaging, encouraging, and enjoyable, and I strive to create that environment in every lesson.

About the lesson

Having completed all of my primary and secondary education through the medium of Irish, as well as speaking Irish as my primary language at home, I am a native Irish speaker with a strong command of both spoken and written Gaeilge. I also sat all of my Leaving Certificate examinations through Irish, giving me first-hand experience of the language at an academic level.

I offer personalised Irish grinds for students of all ages and abilities, whether you're looking to improve your everyday Irish or achieve top grades in your exams. Lessons can be tailored to focus on:

- Conversational Irish and spoken fluency
- Leaving Certificate exam technique and preparation
- Essay writing and written expression
- Grammar, comprehension, and language skills
- Irish literature, including novels, drama, poetry, and prescribed texts

Lessons are delivered online and typically last 1–2 hours, depending on the student's needs and goals. Following each lesson, I provide manageable practice exercises to reinforce the material covered and help build confidence between sessions. These exercises are designed to complement schoolwork without placing unnecessary demands on the student's time.

Whether your goal is to build confidence in speaking Irish, strengthen your writing skills, or maximise your exam performance, I provide engaging, supportive, and personalised lessons designed to help you reach your full potential.

Caoimhe was instrumental in bringing my son's grades up for the higher level Leaving Cert geography curriculum after his mocks. We received classes from her late into 6th year, but she knew exactly what topics to focus on to get his confidence up for his exam. She has wonderful enthusiasm and clearly knows her topics well.
