My lessons are designed to break down complex legal principles into clear, manageable ideas. I focus on real-world examples and practical application and my goal is to provide tailored lessons that allow students build a strong foundation in the law, without feeling overwhelmed. I cover many different modules and everything from practice papers, general exam preparation and techniques, coursework, time management, essay planning, and ensuring you know how to research and apply appropriate legal sources. I also cover mooting preparation and job interviews or applications. Whether you are preparing for exams or just aiming to deepen your understanding, my aim is to support you with the tools and confidence to approach legal studies with clarity and ease. I have received many positive reviews from previous students, please see some below.

‘He was a good tutor, very meticulous, particular and thorough. He really listened to what my requirements were and provided.’

‘Wentworth was a great tutor and I enjoyed and learnt a lot from his teaching techniques.’

‘The quality of teaching is excellent. My tutor Wentworth reads all of the texts I was given on a subject in advance, highlights them and finds further readings on the subject for me to read. His classes are very well structured and he discusses the topics in a way that makes them much more understandable.’

‘He is knowledgeable, engaging and extremely helpful regarding all areas of law. His method of teaching is engaging and fun and he also has a great sense of humour which has made it a lot less stressful. I would whole heartedly recommend Wentworth as a law tutor.’

  • When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

During my Philosophy BA, I focused on ethics and logic. This naturally led to my studying a law conversion course and becoming a lawyer, as analytical thinking and justice underpin the theory and practice of law. My interest in teaching comes from a love of sharing knowledge and seeing students progress.
  • Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

Land law, property law, and equity and trusts are the subjects I love to teach. I specialise in these areas in my practice as a solicitor. My practical experience helps me to explain the law to students through real-world examples and practical applications.
  • Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

Benjamin Franklin. I admire his intellectual curiosity, diplomacy, and even-temper.
  • What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

Patience, experience, knowledge, and empathy, as well as a genuine enjoyment of the subject that spreads to the student.
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

At school, I had an English teacher that was very inspirational to me. He was passionate about the subject, a great listener, and always encouraged an atmosphere where everyone’s opinion mattered. He also always managed to link the subject back to life and real-world experiences, and this is a quality that I adopt in my own teaching.
  • What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still facing in your subject?

When I first started studying, I found it difficult to accept the uncertainty of the law. It is an area of study that can be ambiguous and inconsistent. I have since learnt that there is no single “right” answer, and I encourage both myself and my students to explore reasoned arguments from multiple viewpoints, and to embrace the ambiguity to become better thinkers and advocates.
  • Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

I love to learn, and I am curious. The law is expansive, and always changing, so it offers an opportunity for continuous learning. In my job as a solicitor, I love seeing how one can use the law to protect and enforce peoples’ rights. It is the reason I volunteer every week at a legal advice centre.
  • What makes you a Superprof (besides answering these interview questions :-P) ?

I have a genuine and sincere enthusiasm for teaching the law and seeing students fulfil their potential.
