About Fatih
Welcome! I am an educational professional with a Master's Degree in Special Education and more than ten years of experience teaching mathematics both internationally and locally. I am a proudly certified educator (PEL and LBS1) currently serving as an inclusive math and science teacher. My entire teaching career is built on the belief that math should never be a source of anxiety. I specialize in breaking down difficult Algebra and Geometry concepts into manageable, understandable steps tailored to your exact learning style. My teaching philosophy is rooted in inclusive, individualized, and accessible education. To make math meaningful, I leverage the comprehensive Skyline curriculum to connect abstract mathematical concepts—like Algebra and Geometry—to real-world adaptation and problem-solving. To ensure long-term success, I strategically use Khan Academy to reinforce foundational skills, close learning gaps, and proactively prepare students for next year’s academic standards. Drawing on my extensive background in Special Education, I use evidence-based techniques such as visual scaffolds, graphic organizers, and the "gradual release of responsibility" model to reduce cognitive load and build independent problem-solving skills.
A Typical Lesson Plan
Every learner is different, but a typical session is highly structured to maximize focus and retention:
Warm-Up & Check-In: We begin with a quick review of prior knowledge and foundational skills using Khan Academy.
Interactive Mini-Lesson: I introduce new concepts using the Skyline curriculum, focusing on how these math skills apply to real-world scenarios.
Guided Practice: We work through problems together. I provide step-by-step frameworks (such as the RACE strategy for mathematical reasoning) and encourage students to explain their thinking aloud to shift the cognitive lift.
Independent Practice & Goal Setting: The student applies what they've learned independently while I provide immediate, targeted feedback and outline our goals for the next session.
