About Denise
I am a Math tutor with over five years of teaching experience and hold a BSc in Mathematics. My work focuses on helping students go beyond calculation and step into the world of formal reasoning. I believe that the true beauty of Mathematics lies in its logical structure and the way it trains the mind to think clearly. I specialize in introducing students to mathematical logic and proof theory, areas that form the backbone of higher-level Mathematics. For advanced high school learners and early university students, I provide guidance in constructing proofs and understanding the language of rigor. My approach combines clarity with curiosity, so learners see both the precision and creativity within logic. Key topics I teach include propositional and predicate logic, as well as foundational set theory. To keep lessons engaging, I often use paradoxes and thought experiments that challenge intuition while sharpening reasoning skills. These tools encourage students to question assumptions and build confidence in problem-solving. Over the years, I have worked with students pursuing philosophy, computer science, and pure Mathematics. My teaching approach in Maths is nurturing and personalized, designed to make every learner feel supported and confident. I believe that Maths is not just about numbers, but also about patterns, logic, and creativity. Through a mix of structured lessons and playful exploration, I help students see Maths as both useful and enjoyable.
In addition to core Mathematics, I introduce learners to logic puzzles, game theory, and recreational mathematics. These topics encourage curiosity and allow students to experience Maths as a living subject, not just a school requirement. I also connect concepts to everyday scenarios, showing how Maths explains the choices we make, the games we play, and the problems we solve daily.
I encourage students to celebrate their curiosity and experiment with ideas. This playful approach builds problem-solving skills while keeping lessons engaging. I often use games and puzzles to strengthen logical thinking and to make abstract concepts more concrete.
Being a supportive guide, I work closely with learners to help them overcome challenges in exams, assignments, or personal goals. I also recognize the importance of involving parents, ensuring they feel confident about their child’s progress and approach to learning.
