About Jack
As a dedicated music producer with over 20 years in the industry, I've had the privilege of releasing music on well-known labels and performing internationally. My love for music production started with sequencing on the Amiga - a 90s computer with a lo-fi sound chip. From there, I explored powerful tools like the MPC 2000, Reason, and Cubase. Today, Ableton is my go-to, but I still love incorporating a variety of hardware and software to create unique sounds, including gear by Native Instruments, Novation and Teenage Engineering. These days I enjoy producing different types of house, as well as hip hop and indie dance/nu disco. I've also composed music for film and had tracks featured in games.

I aim to create an easy-going, positive and encouraging environment where you feel comfortable experimenting and growing. I like to simplify the process, to allow for an easier creative flow. My teaching is hands-on, prioritizing practice over theory, though I'm happy to jump into the technical details when necessary. Custom Lessons: Lessons are designed around your goals and learning speed. Interactive Sessions: Expect live demos, walkthroughs, and hands-on activities to keep learning active and fun. Typical Length of a Lesson: Typically 90 minutes, adjustable to meet student needs. Qualifications/Experience: A mix of formal education, self-taught skills, and extensive industry experience. Over 20 years in music production and performance have equipped me with a deep understanding of the craft. My experience in the music industry is complemented by experience tutoring students online. Who Are My Lessons For: My lessons are designed for students of all levels, from beginners who are just starting out in music production to advanced producers looking to refine and expand their skill set. My primary tool for teaching is Ableton, but I can also help you with other music production software or hardware, such as Maschine or Bitwig, as well as DJing software and hardware such as Pioneer Rekordbox or Traktor. Additionally, I can assist you with a mixed hardware/software setup, or an all-hardware "DAWless" workflow.

Jack has excellent skills on Ableton and added value to my productions by adding significant live feels to the basslines (mine were a bit wooden and he gave them some much needed 1/4 notes) and he added a lot of dynamism to my drums too. I definitely learned a lot from our sessions
