About Maya
I am a Piano tutor with more than 10 years of teaching experience and have successfully taught over 830 students. My passion is helping learners discover their musical potential while developing confidence, creativity, discipline, and technical excellence.
Throughout my teaching journey, I have worked with complete beginners, advanced performers, examination candidates, competition participants, and students pursuing music for personal enjoyment. This experience allows me to create highly personalized learning experiences that support different goals and learning styles.
I believe music education should balance technical precision with artistic freedom. Students should learn how to perform accurately while also developing the ability to communicate emotion, meaning, and creativity through music.
Many students have successfully achieved distinctions in examinations, performed confidently at recitals, participated in competitions, and developed strong musical foundations through my guidance. Their achievements continue to inspire my dedication to teaching.

My Piano lessons are designed to help students develop technical mastery, artistic expression, musical understanding, and performance confidence through a structured and personalized learning approach. I teach Classical Piano, Contemporary Piano, Sight Reading, Ear Training, Music Theory, Improvisation, Performance Preparation, Rhythm Development, and Musical Interpretation.
Students begin by mastering essential foundations including posture, hand positioning, finger independence, note reading, rhythm accuracy, coordination, and listening skills. These core skills create the technical framework required for advanced musical growth and confident performance.
As learners progress, lessons expand into scales, arpeggios, technical studies, advanced repertoire, phrasing, dynamics, interpretation, improvisation, and recital preparation. Students learn how to understand music intellectually and emotionally while strengthening technical precision.
Music theory concepts are integrated directly into practical learning activities so students understand harmony, rhythm, structure, and musical analysis while applying these concepts immediately through performance. This approach develops complete musicianship and independent learning abilities.
Every lesson includes structured practice strategies, detailed feedback, and performance coaching to help students achieve consistent progress while developing artistic confidence and musical excellence.
