LEARNING PHILOSOPHY =================== 1. LEARN BY DOING: I am a big believer in Learning by Doing. Especially, for coding, there is no other alternative but to get your hands dirty. 2. PROJECT BASED LEARNING: With that in mind, I teach programming the other way around, starting from a working code, seeing it perform something amazing, and going backward to figure out how it works. That way we do not spend hours going over dry syntaxes. 3. EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING: From Day 1, you will be building a portfolio through bite-size labs. TYPICAL LESSON PLAN ================== Lesson Plan: Understanding Variables and Data Types Story Introduction Story: Imagine you are a detective solving a mystery. To keep track of clues, you need to store different types of information: names of suspects (strings), number of clues found (integers), and the likelihood of each suspect being the culprit (floats). In Python, variables help us store and manage this information efficiently. Learning Objectives (I DO) Understand what variables are and how to use them. Learn about different data types in Python: integers, floats, strings, and booleans. Practice creating and manipulating variables in Python. Hands-On Activity – Building a Simple Calculator (WE DO) ASSIGNMENT (YOU DO) Create Your Own Customized Calculator WHAT SETS US APART? ================== 1. We touch on the superpowers of Product Design and Automation that coding unleashes. 2. Besides coding we also go over the soft skills that a software developer or any professional needs to collaborate with others and build what matters.
