About Jenna
I’m a qualified and registered social worker with over a decade of frontline experience across fostering, safeguarding, and supervision. I currently work as a Practice Manager for an independent fostering agency and also hold Practice Educator Stage 2 status, mentoring social work students and newly qualified workers. Teaching and supporting others has always been a core part of my role, but more than that—it’s something I genuinely enjoy. I believe that learning in social work should be empowering, not overwhelming, and I’m passionate about helping others build confidence, develop critical thinking, and find their voice in practice. I’ve seen first-hand how a bit of the right support at the right time can completely change a student’s experience—and I want to offer that space for others, whether they’re just starting their degree, navigating the ASYE year or already qualified but looking for support in further learning.

As a qualified social worker with over 13 years of experience and a registered Practice Educator, my approach to tutoring is reflective, supportive, and student-led. I tailor each session to meet the individual’s learning style, confidence level, and specific goals—whether it’s preparing for a placement, tackling an essay, or completing the ASYE portfolio. I use a coaching-style methodology that encourages critical thinking, reflection, and application of theory to practice. Sessions often include: Breakdown of assignment briefs or practice standards Structured planning tools (e.g., how to approach an essay or observation) Review and constructive feedback on written work Space for reflective conversation and skills development I also provide optional resources, templates, and follow-up actions between sessions to build confidence and promote independent learning. Lesson length: A typical lesson is 60 minutes, but I also offer 90-minute deep-dive sessions for more intensive support or portfolio reviews.
