About Monica

Hi, I’m Monica, a Product Designer with 3 years’ experience designing software for businesses in the B2B SaaS industry. Before moving into design, I spent 4 years working in Digital Marketing and Project Management for global and regional brands and/or clients, and I hold a BA (Hons) in Media and Communication.

Working across both fields has given me a well-rounded view of how products are created, launched and grown. I understand how design and marketing connect, and I know what employers and clients expect, because I meet those expectations in my own work every day.

I take my lessons as seriously as my professional work. Every session is prepared in advance and tailored to your goals, and I’ll always be clear about what we’re working on and why. You can expect punctuality, honest and constructive feedback, and a friendly, patient approach, whatever your starting point.

Most of all, I enjoy helping people feel confident in skills that once seemed out of reach. Before we start, I’ll ask about your goals so every lesson is shaped around you. Whether you want to build a portfolio, prepare for interviews, pass a course or grow your own business, we’ll work towards it step by step. I give clear, honest feedback and short tasks between lessons so you keep making progress.

My lessons are practical and hands-on. I don’t teach theory in isolation. Instead, we work on real examples, scenarios, small projects and (anonymised) case studies from my own career, so you learn to think and work like a professional. Each lesson mixes short explanations with practical work, such as design challenges, critiques, auditing a real website or campaign, approaching analytics, and portfolio reviews. I also set short tasks between lessons, so you keep making progress.

WHAT WE CAN COVER
Digital Product Design and UX/UI: user research, usability testing, journey mapping, design principles, accessibility (WCAG), wireframing and prototyping in Figma, AI prototyping tools, and building a portfolio case study.

Marketing and Digital Marketing: audience research, messaging, campaign planning, social media (organic and paid), email and in-app campaigns, analytics and measuring results.

Project Management: Agile and Scrum, roadmaps, user stories and acceptance criteria, sprint planning, retrospectives, and managing stakeholders, timelines and budgets.

I can also help with tools such as Figma, Miro, Jira and Google Analytics, and support university students with assignments and projects.

SUITABLE FOR EVERY LEVEL
Beginners start with the foundations: core principles, key tools and industry language. Intermediate students move on to research, data and planning real projects. Advanced students and junior professionals focus on portfolio case studies, interview preparation, presenting to stakeholders and making data-informed decisions.

LESSON LENGTH
Lessons usually last 60 minutes. Longer 90-minute sessions are available for portfolio reviews or project work, depending on what suits you.

MY TUTOR EXPERIENCE
Both in and outside work, I’ve mentored junior colleagues and people early in their careers. I’ve also run workshops for colleagues, which is where I discovered how much I enjoy teaching.
