About Mahir
I’m a friendly and approachable tutor who aims to make students feel comfortable and supported from the very first lesson. I understand that subjects like maths and physics can sometimes feel challenging, so I focus on creating a relaxed environment where no question feels “silly” and progress is built step by step.
I’m patient, encouraging, and genuinely invested in helping each student succeed. I take the time to understand how each person learns best, and I celebrate improvements along the way to build confidence. My goal is for students to leave each session feeling more capable, positive, and motivated about maths and science!

I have been tutoring since 2014 and hold a Physics degree and a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering from Russell Group universities in London.
I take a structured but flexible approach to tutoring, tailoring each lesson to the student’s goals, strengths, and areas for improvement.
I focus on:
- building strong conceptual understanding
- exam technique, using worked examples, guided practice, and targeted questions.
Lessons typically last 60–90 minutes depending on the student’s preference.
I teach:
- A-level Maths, Physics and Chemistry
- Primary and GCSE STEM subjects
- Python programming for a range of ages and abilities
