About Malka
I have a 4 year degree in Education from Wits University, where I majored in history. I have been successfully teaching for 2 years now and help my learners thrive in history, as well as, develop a love for it.
I have grown up with a passion for history and have a desire to pass that on to other people. I have been tutoring for many years and have always given my all to each student, ensuring their personal success!
I teach so that my learners gain an understanding of the importance of history through fun and engaging lessons that are relatable to every person. Yes...history is fun!
My main goal is to develop critical thinking and empathy in each student. We can only understand the present by understanding the past.

My teaching method, to help my students grasp history and the skills needed to be successful in it, is through engaging, fun and modern ways. I take the past and make my students understand how it is relevant to them now and is still impacting our lives in the present. All concepts and skills are developed through fun and engaging lessons where everyone's opinions can be heard and explored. I am here to help guide students to discover the truth in the most unbiased way. I wish to help each student develop critical thinking skills, analysing sources skills, essay writing skills and most of all, making each student love history and discover all the fascination that comes with it! The past is not that different to today. I aim to instill empathy within my students and for them to realise that these were real people, with real lives and real emotions. Their story and their truth is important for us to explore so they did not die in vain. The past impacts today and what we do today impacts the future. Let us not forget the horrors of the past but rather let us learn not to repeat them. Most importantly; we are all connected.
