About Fabien

I am a graduate from the University of Cambridge in Natural Sciences with six years of tutoring experience science and maths subjects from KS2 to A level standard. Whilst at Cambridge I completed study in various areas of maths and science including: Biology of Cells, Pharmacology, Physiology of Organisms, Chemistry, Psychology and Maths, so I also offer degree-level tuition for these subjects. I have worked with most of the exam boards, specialising in international exam boards. I have also worked closely on a project offering bespoke mentoring for students looking to apply to Oxbridge and the other top universities in England. This project offers advice and guidance with writing of personal statements, amendments to UCAS forms, assistance with the Cambridge SAQ and interview preparation. Currently I am offering additional preparation for the upcoming Oxford and Cambridge admissions tests including the MAT, PAT, NSAA and the engineering assessments. Please enquire for details. I have also taught English classes of up to 40 children, aged 8-16 whilst working in Guangzhou in China. This experience aided me with my approach for teaching large classes and helped improve my lesson plans to make them more suitable for a younger audience. I have received great feedback from my clients in the past and I feel it is important to develop a good working relationship with both students and parents, so all parties involved know exactly what is expected of each other. I see tuition as a very important aid to work at school and I strive to offer the best and most individual service possible to each of my students. I ensure I can offer this by keeping in regular contact with parents to ensure they know their child is being given all the help and support they need. I also encourage parents and students to come to me with any problems they have with my style of teaching and I set regular mini-assessments to ensure topics have been understood fully. In my opinion, the most important part of being a good tutor is to get to know and understand your students; and their learning styles. With better understanding, comes more personal and useful tuition, something which many schools unfortunately fail to recognise or are unable to provide. About the lesson

Science and maths tutor based in London offering online and face to face classes. My style as a tutor is centred around my students and I make it my personal mission to find out the best way of teaching each individual student as everyone is different. This means that each lesson is individually tailored to the student and allows me to be highly adaptable according to the situation. I also like to focus heavily on exam questions so that students have an opportunity to build confidence working to the exam specification as well as giving them an insight into what the examiners are looking for. This allows students to tailor their answers to what the mark scheme will be seeking and increases their chances of taking full marks from the question.
