About Dan

Hi, I’m Dan!
I’m a native Brazilian Portuguese speaker, and I absolutely love my language, my culture and the joy that comes from connecting with people through language.
For me, Portuguese isn't simply a collection of grammar rules and vocabulary. It’s a way of expressing personality, humour, emotion and culture. There are expressions, sounds and little nuances in Brazilian Portuguese that you simply don't get from a textbook — and I want to help you discover them.
Why do I want to teach Portuguese?
Because I know how exciting it can be to learn a new language and suddenly realise that you can actually communicate with another person in it.
That moment when you understand something you couldn't understand before, have your first proper conversation or confidently say something you've been practising — that's what makes language learning so rewarding.
I want my lessons to be practical, relaxed and enjoyable. Rather than worrying about getting every word perfect, I want you to feel comfortable experimenting with the language, making mistakes and gradually building your confidence.
We'll work on the areas that matter most to you — whether that's conversation, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, listening, reading or simply feeling more comfortable speaking Brazilian Portuguese.
And because I'm a native speaker, I can help you go beyond the Portuguese you find in a textbook and explore the real Brazilian Portuguese people use every day.
I also love sharing Brazilian culture alongside the language — because understanding the culture can make the language come alive.
Ultimately, I don't want you to simply study Portuguese.
I want you to use it, enjoy it and make it part of your world.
So whether you're learning Portuguese for travel, family, work, relationships, personal interest or simply because you love the sound of Brazilian Portuguese, I'd love to help you on your journey.
