About Dilara

I am a Ba Fashion Design Womenswear Graduate with a Foundation degree. I am now studying at Central Saint Martins on the Graduate Diploma Programme. I have a strong educational background and know the expectations of the Fashion Department. I am willing to provide help to individuals who want to take on this journey.

About the lesson

My teaching method would be to firstly examine your existing portfolio. It’s important to see what we are working with and discuss what aspects you would like to improve. Perhaps it’s a hobby and you’re not sure if it is the right path for you or you want to apply to Foundation Diploma and you’re not sure what they’re looking for. I will provide you with relevant advice and resources to help you on your journey.

I also specialise in Footwear and Textile&Print if that is something that you are interested in.

We will work on your current project and I will guide you step by step with your portfolio. This includes your sketchbook research, response drawings, collages, draping and design development. We will work on making samples if that is a part of your interest and how to use materials within your work.

I will teach you how to refine and scan your work for digital applications if it is needed; this will include working with photoshop. We will also do workshops for creative drawing and collaging to get the creativity flowing. It’s important to have fun too! We can have outdoor activities such as fabric sampling and where to find the right samples for your designs. I can teach you how to draw a basic blouse pattern and how to adjust your pattern with darts and other relevant techniques.

It will be a one to one critique, I will help you with portfolio composition and design development. We will work on improving your designs and learn to drape and freely express yourself.
I can teach Adobe illustrator for technical drawings and spec packs.

It will be a unique and personalised experience as everyone’s work is different and there is no right or wrong with this. The opportunities are endless and it’s really important that you feel confident in expressing your artistic talent freely without fear of judgement. I’d be more than delighted to connect and work with you to help you achieve what it is that you desire. Feel free to discuss what you are looking for!
