I believe the best way to learn something is to first study it and then to test yourself on it. Unlike just studying something, testing yourself shows if you truly understand something or not. In a 2008 study by Jeffrey D. Karpicke and Henry L. Roediger III showed that testing is more effective in learning than just studying.
When teaching a concept, I would go through example problems with the student. Then I would have the student do problems until they are able to complete them unaided by help. In doing this, I will know that the student truly understands the material.
I graduated from Michigan State University in 2018 as a Mechanical Engineering Major and Mathematics Minor. Currently I am working as an Engineer at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and taking classes at Oakland University towards a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
