About Brendan

I hope my legitimacy is somewhat expressed in my “Ad title” — nevertheless, just know I am not only professional in what I do, BUT I CARE! For example, I am willing to do most of the work on a student’s paper if he or she shows me that they care to not only do well but are quite interested in said topic and learning more. Also, what is interesting about me is my very calm personality after losing both of my legs almost a decade ago after getting hit by a car on a freeway when an Uber driver ran out of gas; but no sympathy party please, as I now walk on two prosthetic legs and it has grounded me as a human. Happier now than I ever was in the past. So, I am very open, easy to communicate with, and I am very understanding under almost all circumstances thanks to going through this (and my wild, though not so flattering, past) to become the human I am today many years later. Meeting and working with new people is always a treat for me.

I love to help those wanting to genuinely learn and better themselves within their current studies or potential academic career. I’m an overall fantastic tutor (with two years of experience so far). Furthermore, I am currently working on starting my PhD candidacy in order to become an associate professor myself. I am ready to help one succeed (be it yourself, or child) when it comes to writing, researching, test preparation, and the likes thereof. I am very keen on incorporating academic sources/resources to help build a firm, well-written paper; whereby originality and well-thought-out work is key. However, I do not only work/help with research thesis papers and/or historiographies, because my way of teaching/tutoring includes helping one enjoy the subject at hand (in which they might have had no interest in prior to working with me), ultimately guaranteeing a great grade in any classroom test setting as well. I am also willing to write most of a student’s paper for instance, as long as you (or your child) show a sheer passion in passing that particular class. Believe it or not, it is actually the nuances of a topic that make “said” topic quite intriguing. Academic integrity, enthusiasm, curiosity, and/or intellectual engagement go a long way. After many years of “schooling” (per se) myself, I can understand how much the workload can be. And ultimately, how such a workload can also affect one's mental health even though they truly want to be successful within their academics/school while simultaneously bettering themselves as a person. I enjoy making the student love the topic they are tackling even if it seems “boring” to the student at the time. Many of these subjects are relevant to your life, be it indirectly or directly. And that is whether you realize it or not, wherein topics within the scope of History, Geohistory/Geopolitics, International Relations, Political Theory/Science, Religious Studies, so forth and so on, have impacts on you and society as a whole. What may seem boring to you now, can soon become a fun topic to learn (and maybe even a passion that you one day pursue).

I am flexible; just talk to me. I might have a higher rate than some [rates at the bottom of the page]. However, I am willing to do more than “some” (if you will) as well. For instance, want your paper (or your kid’s paper) done in two days from scratch? I will get that done! Furthermore, actual tutors at high school and/or college levels with my level of expertise easily cost $100+ dollars an hour (which is certainly a bit steep depending on the grade level)! Too many people these days are falling into laziness and/or using stuff like Open AI to get their work done. Which is unethical and nothing is better than doing your own work with the power of the human brain (notably with major faults still embedded in these new technologies such as Chat-GPT and it is quite easy to tell when students use these models as well). Moreover, while I can cover a large array of topics, if the topic is within the scope of mathematics or science, there are others on here that are better suited for these fields of education (though I am quite learned in physics and lower levels of chemistry; nevertheless, there are many out there that have much more expertise on these subjects and many of them are more cost-efficient). But from history to English literature, to more complex topics such as philosophy to political science (including college-level courses), I am here to help! My rate(s), while flexible, are quite simple and straightforward: - $75 dollars an hour when it comes to writing the paper myself (e.g. work with the student for an hour, then go on to finish the paper in full within three to four hours), all the while teaching the student on how to get such projects done on their own in the future with much more ease by instilling in them many methods, techniques, approaches, and other such ways to research, learn, and write in order to make doing so a more relaxed and engaging practice that you (or they) will carry with them into the future. — 65 dollars an hour for test prep. But if the student (you or your child) does not pass, I am willing to refund because I am that positive on helping you or your child. I just need the student I am tutoring to take “x” subject at hand serious enough. Essentially, just pay attention and it will be worth it :) ! — All rates run the same, be it if I have to travel, if one comes to my house (or a quiet place such as at a library), and/or online via zoom, google share, etc… *Nonetheless, I am caring and understanding - meaning, I do get that people want to succeed but some might have a low budget. Just talk to me. I am willing to work with you and become flexible when it comes to these rates (as shown above).
