About Dhiya
My name is Dhiya. I am 22 years old. I am a fifth-year medical student at the University of the Witwatersrand with a strong academic background, having achieved distinctions in all 7 of my matric subjects. I understand firsthand the level of discipline, consistency, and hard work required to succeed academically, and I aim to help my students develop those same habits and skills.
My tutoring approach is professional, structured, and rooted in accountability. As someone who is passionate about both teaching and learning, I am committed to helping students improve in the areas where they feel less confident and guiding them towards achieving their academic goals through patience, consistency, and hard work.

I offer relaxed, patient, and supportive Maths and Afrikaans lessons for learners from Grade 1 to Grade 11. My teaching style focuses strongly on understanding rather than memorising, as I believe students perform best when they truly understand the work they are doing. I teach concepts step-by-step from the ground up, starting with the basics and gradually working towards more advanced and complex problems.
Lessons are tailored to each student’s individual needs, pace, and goals. A typical lesson includes working through examples together, identifying weak areas, practising problem-solving techniques, and improving understanding through interactive explanations. I aim to make students feel comfortable asking questions and developing confidence in their abilities.
I offer online lessons and maintain flexible scheduling, including evenings during the week and weekends. My lessons are best suited for learners who need extra support, want to strengthen their foundations, improve marks, prepare for tests and exams, or build confidence.
