About Kevin
I’m Kevin, a photographer and graphic designer with a strong background in visual storytelling, composition, editing, and creative critique. Photography has been part of my life for years, from digital work to 35mm and medium format film, and I approach it as both a technical craft and an art form.
My eye has been shaped by photography, graphic design, art history, film, fashion, and the kind of visual details most people walk past without noticing. I care about the full image: the light, the pose, the color, the mood, the crop, the edit, and the story it leaves behind.
I have experience with portraiture, events, film photography, digital editing, portfolio review, and helping other creatives strengthen their work. Because of my design background, I’m especially comfortable talking about layout, visual balance, hierarchy, style, and how an image communicates.
I take photography seriously, but I do not believe learning it has to feel cold or intimidating. I’m professional, honest, and supportive, and I care about helping students build real confidence instead of just memorizing camera settings. My goal is to help people become stronger image-makers with a better eye, better habits, and a clearer sense of what they want their work to say.

I am practical, patient, and creative in the way I teach photography. I help students understand both the technical side of the camera and the artistic choices that make an image stronger. My goal is to make photography feel less intimidating, more intentional, and more connected to the student’s personal goals.
A typical lesson begins with a conversation about the student’s short-term and long-term goals. Some students may want to learn manual settings, improve portraits, edit better, build a portfolio, or simply feel more confident with a camera. From there, I help create a clear path forward with practical exercises, real examples, critique, and step-by-step guidance.
What sets me apart is my background in photography, graphic design, film photography, digital editing, visual storytelling, and art history. I do not only focus on settings and gear. I also help students develop their eye, understand composition, study visual references, and learn why certain images work. Art history can be especially useful for understanding light, gesture, color, mood, framing, and storytelling.
My lessons are best for beginners, hobbyists, students, or developing photographers who want to improve their camera skills, editing workflow, composition, portraits, event photography, or overall visual style. Whether someone is starting from the beginning or trying to make their work feel more polished, I aim to give them clear tools and a realistic plan for growth.
