About Shane
For the past 7 years, I have been teaching music theory to many students in class and one-on-one settings, from elementary to collegiate level education. Many of my elementary and middle school level students have gone on to high school and beyond, furthering their talents and love for music. My college level students that have graduated with degrees in music have gone on to careers in teaching, composing, and performing.

I like to focus on two techniques when I teach:
1 - Finding what a student's real needs are, and teaching them in a way that best suits their learning styles.
2 - Applying content to real world situations.
I find this helps students to have a quicker and deeper understanding of music theory.
