About Liam

I am a final year Electronic Engineering student at Durham University, currently completing an integrated Master’s degree. Throughout my time at university I have consistently achieved strong results in demanding mathematics and physics based modules, and I enjoy working with these subjects every day.

I achieved 4 A*s at A Level in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, so I understand both the depth of the material and the challenges students often face when preparing for exams. Having progressed from A Levels into a rigorous STEM degree, I am well placed to help students bridge the gap between understanding concepts and applying them confidently in exam questions.

I have experience helping students with mathematics and physics, including supporting others with A Level mathematics and explaining difficult topics step by step. I focus on building genuine understanding rather than memorising methods, helping students develop the confidence to tackle unfamiliar problems independently.

Students and parents often value that I can explain ideas clearly and patiently. I aim to create a relaxed and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and working through problems at their own pace.

Whether a student is aiming to strengthen their foundations, improve exam performance, or push towards top grades, I tailor lessons to suit their goals and learning style. My aim is always to help students leave each session feeling more confident in their abilities and better prepared for their exams.

About the lesson

I aim to help students develop a clear understanding of the ideas behind problems rather than simply memorising methods. By working through problems step by step, I guide students towards the answer and help them build the confidence to solve similar questions independently.

Lessons are tailored to each student. Some students want help strengthening their foundations, while others want to aim for top grades or tackle more challenging material. I am happy to support both.

As someone who has recently completed A Levels and progressed through a demanding STEM degree, I understand the common difficulties students face and how to approach exam questions effectively.
