About Rachel

¡Hola! I’m Rachel, a Spanish student at Queen’s University Belfast with a real passion for languages, teaching and helping others build their confidence in Spanish.

I have studied Spanish throughout my education and recently spent a year living and working in Valencia, Spain, where I worked in a Spanish school. This experience gave me the opportunity to work with people, adapt lessons to different abilities and learn how to make language learning fun, engaging and accessible. Living in Spain also allowed me to develop my Spanish through everyday conversations and immerse myself in Spanish culture and life.

My tutoring style is friendly, patient and personalised. I understand that speaking a new language can feel intimidating, so I create a relaxed environment where students can make mistakes, ask questions and build confidence without feeling judged. I like to combine conversation, grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation with real-life Spanish, so that students learn not only how to pass an exam, but how to actually use the language.

Whether you are a complete beginner, preparing for GCSE or A-Level Spanish, or simply want to become more confident speaking Spanish, I will tailor our lessons to your individual goals and learning style.

I am organised, reliable and genuinely invested in helping my students succeed. I would love to help you discover that Spanish can be enjoyable, achievable and something you can feel confident using. ¡Nos vemos en clase!

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is friendly, patient and personalised to each student. Having studied Spanish at university, lived in Spain for a year and worked in a Spanish primary school as an English Language Assistant, I have developed a strong understanding of both the Spanish language and the importance of learning through real-life communication.
I believe the best way to learn Spanish is to make lessons engaging, practical and relevant to the student’s goals. I adapt my teaching style depending on your level, whether you are a complete beginner, preparing for exams, or looking to improve your confidence in speaking and understanding Spanish.

In my classes, I like to combine conversation practice with vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation and cultural knowledge. I encourage students to speak as much Spanish as possible in a relaxed environment, while providing clear explanations and support when they make mistakes. My experience working with children in Spain has also taught me how to make lessons interactive and enjoyable.
Most importantly, I want my students to feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions. My aim is not only to help you improve your Spanish, but to build your confidence so that you can use the language naturally in real-life situations.
