About Naomi
Hello everyone, my name is Naomi and I am a final-year student, majoring in Software Development at Adelaide University. I am passionate about Mathematics, Physics, and programming languages (especially Python, C#, C++) with a strong focus on building deep conceptual understanding rather than rote memorization.
My teaching approach is designed to help students truly grasp the “why” behind formulas, equations, and code, so they can confidently apply knowledge in exams and real-world problems. I also aim to make learning more engaging and less intimidating by presenting concepts from different perspectives and adding a light, approachable tone to lessons, so students can move from “this looks impossible” to “This is too easy, give me something harder :)).”
I was awarded Second Prize in a city-level Physics competition as a distinguished student. I have 2 years of tutoring experience in Mathematics and Physics, with positive feedback from my students. In addition, I also achieved High Distinction (HD) in all programming courses in my first year, including Python and Web Data (C#, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
I also see my students as friends, and many of them treat me the same way. Because I’ve noticed a funny but very real pattern: students often understand things better when it’s explained by a friend rather than a formal teacher.

- I use slides and visual examples to keep lessons engaging, focus on key exercises instead of overwhelming homework, and include real-world applications to make concepts clearer. I also add a bit of humor along the way so math and physics feel more approachable and less intimidating.
- A typical lesson lasts 90–120 minutes, depending on the complexity of the topic. Each session includes 20–30 minutes of theory and explanations, followed by 50–70 minutes of guided practice and problem-solving, and ends with a 20-minute Q&A section to clarify concepts and explore extensions of the topic.
- My lessons are mainly designed for middle school, high school, and first-year university students, with content and explanations adapted to suit each level.
