About Macielle

I’m a UC Davis graduate and finance professional with experience working across banking, startups, and growing companies. Throughout my career, I’ve relied on math, analytical thinking, and problem solving to tackle complex questions and make thoughtful decisions.

I’m tutoring because I’d like to give back to the subjects and skills that helped build my own career. I know that math can sometimes feel intimidating, especially when a concept has not been explained in a way that clicks. I’m patient, optimistic, and genuinely enjoy helping people work through challenges and build confidence in themselves.

My goal is to create an encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and ultimately realizing that they are capable of solving problems that once felt difficult.

My approach to tutoring is positive, patient, and focused on building confidence alongside strong math skills. I start by understanding what a student is learning in class, where they are getting stuck, and how they currently approach a problem. From there, we break concepts into manageable steps and work through examples together before transitioning to independent problem solving.

A typical lesson includes a quick review of the concept, guided practice, independent problems, and a recap of the strategies the student can use on their own. I can also tailor sessions around homework, upcoming tests, or specific areas where a student needs additional support.

As a finance professional and UC Davis graduate, math and analytical problem-solving have been foundational to my education and career. I want to give back by helping students develop those same skills and see that math does not have to feel intimidating.

My lessons are best suited for middle school and early high school students studying pre-algebra or algebra who want additional support, practice, or confidence.
