With a degree in finance from Grand Canyon University and a background in math and science, I have the knowledge and expertise to provide personalized tutoring services. As an experienced and dedicated tutor, I am confident that I can help students gain the skills and confidence they need to succeed in their academic pursuits.

About the lesson

As a tutor, I take a student-centered approach, tailoring my teaching methods and techniques to suit each individual's learning style and needs. I like to start by assessing their current level of understanding and work with them to set achievable goals.

During a typical lesson, I break down complex concepts into smaller, more manageable parts, and use real-life examples to help students connect the material to their own experiences. I also encourage active participation and ask open-ended questions to promote critical thinking.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my ability to empathize with students who have different learning needs, such as those with IEPs. Having gone through the same experience myself, I understand the importance of adapting to their individual needs and creating a supportive environment for them to learn.

Perfect! Shane was great! He was able to work with my son in a way that did not overwhelm him and allowed him to overcome some challenges with calculus concepts. My son has often been misunderstood for his nero-divergent thought processes and is hesitant to trust new people. Shane was able to quickly get him to open up! My son left the session upbeat with a renewed optimism for his class.
