About Kristian

I am a calm, approachable and engaging tutor who specialises in finance, investing and business-related subjects. My aim is to make complex financial concepts clear and practical by combining academic theory with real-world examples from financial markets, portfolio management and investment strategy.

I have over 100 hours of tutoring experience through Titanium Tutors, supporting students at GCSE, A-Level and university level. My background includes a BA (Hons) in Law & Business Studies from the University of Liverpool and professional finance qualifications from the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment, including the CISI Level 4 Investment Advice Diploma and Certificate in Paraplanning.

Alongside tutoring, I work in senior leadership roles within FTSE 100 companies and actively manage investment portfolios that have achieved double-digit annual growth over several years, allowing me to bring practical financial market insight into my teaching.

I have supported students in achieving strong academic outcomes, including helping a GCSE Business student improve from a predicted Grade 2 to a final Grade 9 and supporting a business degree student with dissertation development who achieved a final 2:1 classification.

My teaching style is calm, supportive and structured, ensuring lessons are engaging and tailored to each student’s learning needs.

About the lesson

My Teaching Approach

My tutoring approach focuses on making finance clear, practical, and easy to understand. Finance can often feel complex or technical, so my aim is to break down concepts into simple steps while showing how they apply to real financial markets and investment decisions.

I combine academic finance theory with practical examples from financial markets, investing, and business strategy to help students understand not only how finance works academically but also how it operates in the real world.

Lessons are typically structured around three stages:

1. Understanding the Core Concepts
We begin by clearly explaining key financial concepts such as risk, return, investment strategies, financial markets, and portfolio management. I focus on simplifying complex topics so students build a strong foundation.

2. Applying Finance to Real Examples
Once the theory is understood, we apply it to practical examples such as analysing companies, understanding financial markets, or working through finance-related exam questions and case studies.

3. Exam Technique and Analytical Thinking
For students studying finance academically, I also focus on developing strong exam technique and structured answers. This includes helping students interpret financial problems, structure written responses, and apply financial reasoning.

Lesson Structure

Lessons are typically 60 minutes, although longer sessions can be arranged for coursework, assignments, or dissertation support.

A typical lesson includes:

• Review of previous topics or homework
• Explanation of new finance concepts
• Worked examples or case studies
• Practice questions and feedback

All lessons are delivered online via Zoom or Google Meet, allowing flexible scheduling.
