I find Maths to be one of the great joys in life. Online coaching of GCSE pupils is a really good way for me to share my understanding of, and enthusiasm for, the subject.

About Ian
I studied Maths at school, at ‘O’ and ‘A’ levels. Whilst I then went on to study and teach Art & Design, I always retained my interest in Maths. I study it each day, mostly at ‘A’ level and beyond. Art and Maths might seem like an odd combination, but there is great creativity to be both ‘observed’ in the development of mathematical topics and also to be ‘exercised’ by ourselves, in finding a path to a solution.

All pupils are different in terms of their experiences, attainments and difficulties. Conversations with a pupil, and my observations of their performance, are the means by which we steer our course to ensure that they are in as good a shape as possible for their GCSE Maths exams. My lessons each last an hour, are online and involve collaboration on a virtual whiteboard. In any single lesson many skills are practised to give the best chance of success in this multi-faceted subject.
