About Ophelia
"Graduating from USC gave me a formal understanding of theory, but my real education happened while playing acoustic sets for 13 years across the American South. Open mic regulars kept asking how I managed my technique, which led me into this teaching life. I focus on grade exam prep, chord transitions, reading sheet music, and reading tabs.
It remains satisfying to help people finally grasp the fretboard after years of frustration. I mostly enjoy watching students connect with their own sound during our quiet sessions.

Why should singing dictate how you handle the guitar when the strings should lead the way? I prioritize the instrument first so your rhythm remains steady while your voice finds its natural place over the music.
We focus on complex fingerpicking patterns and clean transitions to build your foundation. You will practice soloing at home using custom backing tracks I create specifically for your progress. It is just fun to make noise together. These sessions are about making the guitar do the heavy lifting for you.
We focus on technique until it feels like second nature. It really is that simple. Playing should feel like a conversation between your fingers and the wood.
