About Karen
Fresh coffee and the smell of polished mahogany woods greet you at the door. I use custom backing tracks so you can practice soloing at home with a realistic ensemble feel. We look at chord transitions and precise fingerpicking patterns that bring your songs to life. My JMC Academy training ensures we keep the technical foundation solid while playing.
You will leave our time together feeling equipped to handle the music you find most challenging. This is about building the confidence to play exactly what you hear in your head.

Patient guidance defines my studio atmosphere. Teaching is a grounding act.
I grew up immersed in the rhythms of bolero, flamenco, and chacarera, and these traditions inform everything I do. My Diploma of Music from JMC Academy provides the formal scaffolding for my 13 years of experience on the instrument. I treat these Latin styles as an integrated cultural package for my students.
Sometimes we shift focus to grade exam prep or technical reading of tabs and sheet music. My goal is to ensure you feel connected to the roots of the music you play. I keep things relaxed to help you stay curious.
