About Allyah

I studied architecture at The Bartlett, UCL, and graduated with an award-winning First Class project. I am now doing my Master’s in Architecture at the University of Cambridge. My interest in architecture stems from a care for human relationships, experiences and well-being. Matters of both social and ecological justice are imperative to my practice, which investigates the intersections between ecology, humanity, and architecture. As well as more conventional architectural practices, illustration and filmmaking are integral to my design methodology. Intensive and critical research is also fundamental to my work, and my practice spans both analogue and digital modes of making. I am currently working as an architectural assistant, and am planning to continue my education through a Masters this year.

About the lesson

These lessons are catered for A Level students who feel that they would benefit from support with the challenging process of applications. Sessions are tailored to suit individual students with their requirements, but will mostly focus on the production and refinement of the portfolio, which is critical for most applications to study Architecture. This may include sessions on drawing, painting or producing sculptures, refining existing work, building a personal identity and narrative through the portfolio, and graphically presenting the work itself. Having graduated last year, I am now working in practice at an architecture firm. I have taught drawing classes for a number of years and have successfully tutored students applying to The Bartlett and other top institutions.
