About David

I've been studying Computer Science for many years, from school all the way through to university, and I've now been working in the industry for over three years including a year long internship at NBCUniversal. I have a First Class Honours degree from Swansea University and I work day to day as a Software Developer so I have both the academic background and real world experience to back it up.
I really enjoy helping people who want to get into coding, especially beginners who just need some extra guidance and encouragement. My aim is to make learning comfortable, clear and confidence building so you can progress at your own pace without feeling overwhelmed. I teach in the way I would have wanted to be taught, making sure students fully understand each concept before moving on rather than rushing through content.
I can help with GCSE and A Level Computer Science, Python, JavaScript, Java, HTML and general programming for beginners and intermediates. I also have previous experience tutoring Maths, English and Science up to GCSE level which has helped me develop strong communication skills and effective teaching techniques over the years.
Sessions are tailored to each student's individual goals whether that is understanding the basics, building confidence, preparing for exams or developing practical programming skills. The first 30 minutes are free so we can get to know each other and figure out exactly what you need before committing to anything.

About the lesson

Lesson Structure and Teaching Approach

My teaching approach focuses on clear, patient explanations and building strong fundamentals. I aim to teach in the way I would have wanted to be taught, ensuring students fully understand each concept before moving on. I create a supportive and relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace.

Lessons are tailored to each student’s individual goals, whether that is understanding the basics, improving confidence, or developing practical programming skills.

Lesson details:
• Lesson length: 30 minutes to 1 hour
• Age range: 11 and above
• Level: Beginners to early intermediate

I also have previous experience tutoring Maths, English, and Science up to GCSE level, which has helped me develop strong communication skills and effective teaching techniques.

My priority is to help students build confidence, understand core concepts, and enjoy the learning process.
