Daena is a respected tutor in our community. They have been highly recommended for their commitment and the quality of their lessons — an excellent choice to progress with confidence.
About Daena
Alongside my First-Class Honours Biochemistry degree from Imperial College London, I have hands-on tutoring experience, giving me the tools to guide students through tricky concepts, build confidence, and improve exam performance.
I believe every student learns differently, which is why 1-to-1 tutoring is so effective — it allows me to adapt my teaching style to each individual and help them reach their full potential in ways that a classroom often can’t.
My passion for teaching stems from supporting younger family members through Years 10 to 13. This rewarding experience of helping someone progress in their academic journey, combined with my love for Biology, Chemistry, and Maths, has inspired me to pursue tutoring.

I use a personalised traffic light system to highlight each student’s strengths and weaknesses within a subject area. Together, we focus first on the most challenging topics to build confidence and fill in gaps. At the end of each topic, I test understanding using exam-style questions and then revisit the traffic light system to track progress. The ultimate goal is to remove all “reds,” strengthen “oranges,” and ensure every topic is “green” in time for exams.
I offer lessons of 1 hour, 1.5 hours, or 2 hours, available both online and in-person (London only). My tutoring covers GCSE/IGCSE Maths, Biology, and Chemistry (Years 10–11), as well as A-level Biology and Chemistry (Years 12–13).
Alongside my First-Class Honours degree in Biochemistry from Imperial College London, I have direct experience tutoring students particularly at A-level. I have also supported younger family members through their exams, which first sparked my passion for teaching. Seeing students gain confidence and improve academically is deeply rewarding, and I bring patience, structure, and enthusiasm to every lesson.
As I continue to build my tutoring experience formally, my rates reflect this commitment while offering excellent value.

Daena would be a fantastic tutor because she is so helpful and caring and has always helped me out with areas in my studies that i have struggled with. Daena is a trustworthy tutor because she is really smart and professional and will certainly help any child boost their confidence in areas that they are struggling in! I would really recommend her as your Chemistry tutor!
I studied GCSE chemistry with the help of Daena whilst she was completing her A-levels. Over the two years of my GCSE, Daena tutored me. As a result, my predicted grade 5 progressed into an attained grade 8. She particularly focused on topics I found more difficult and exam techniques as this was most important in GCSE chemistry. I would recommend her highly!!
I have not seen anyone more dedicated to their subject than Daena. Not only does she have a wealth of knowledge of her subject matter, she also can explain this in a concise and simple manner. As someone with a non scientific background she can breakdown concepts to their building blocks, then as I understand more and more, she layers more and more complexities.
Daena has been a fantastic peer and help during my university studies at Imperial College London in Biochemistry. She is reliable and driven to support her students by tailoring her approach to a range of different needs.
Top biochemistry student graduated from imperial, very organised and keen to help GCSE and A level students.
