About Alex

In my experience with maths, I have found that I love studying it due to the stimulation I get from solving problems daily, and I seek to resonate this feeling with my students when tutoring maths to create a fun and instantly rewarding atmosphere while learning.
I am passionate about the subject, and I strive to build confidence through careful progress tailored to the unique needs of the student.
I understand that maths can seem daunting, but I believe that embracing of the challeges that it evokes is the key to success.

About the lesson

For maths and further maths, I will have a 10 minute starter in place which will be based on the work done in the last session, as I believe this is an essential part in the consolidation of learning. After all, maths is about practice, practice and more practice! For the remainder of the session, I will ask the student about how their lessons at school have been going since our last session, and try to iron out any lapses in understanding they may have before going through some of my own prepared examples based on the material, of which I will strive to include as many past paper questions as possible, as I believe that farmiliarising yourself with the way in which questions are asked in exams from a very early stage is crucial in achieving your full potential.

I am a Mathematical Sciences graduate from the University of Bath (1st class honours) and I have over 60 lessons of tutoring on MyTutor.
