About Tom
I recently graduated from the University of Sheffield with a First-Class Master’s in Mechanical Engineering. Outside of engineering, my main interests are football, hiking, golf, and F1.
I teach because I enjoy taking difficult subjects and making them easier to digest. From my own recent experience with GCSEs, A-Levels, and university exams, I know how overwhelming STEM subjects can feel. Drawing on my background mentoring young people at a US summer camp, my sessions are designed to be clear, engaging, and focused on building the confidence needed to succeed.

My Approach:
Having recently gone through the education system myself, I completely understand the pressure, exam stress, and frustration that can come with Maths and Physics. Because I'm closer in age to my students, my lessons feel more like studying with a knowledgeable mentor than a strict teacher. I know exactly where students typically get stuck and how to break those hurdles down in a way that actually clicks.
Experience and Qualifications:
While the atmosphere is relaxed, the standard of learning is high. I hold a First-Class Master’s (MEng) in Mechanical Engineering and have worked in the aerospace industry. This means I don't just teach you to memorise formulas to pass a test but can rather show you how these concepts actually apply to the real world, making them much easier to understand and remember.

I offer tailored sessions for students of all ages, whether you are stressing over upcoming GCSEs/A-Levels, or aiming for top-tier grades.
Typical Lesson:
Lessons usually run for 60 minutes. We will focus heavily on breaking down complex topics step-by-step and tackling exam-style questions so you feel completely prepared and confident when it matters most.
