About Calum
Hi, I’m Calum, a First-Class MEng Aeronautical Engineering graduate from the University of Glasgow, and I’m about to begin my career as a Mechanical Engineer. I’ve always enjoyed Maths and problem-solving, particularly the satisfaction of finding a clear solution to a difficult problem. Throughout university, I have taken on leadership roles where I supported and guided other students, helping them work through technical challenges and develop their understanding. I want to tutor because I enjoy helping others build confidence in their abilities and discover that Maths can be much more manageable than it first appears. I am friendly, patient and approachable, and I aim to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as they learn.

My lessons are friendly, structured and tailored to each student’s individual needs. I break challenging Maths problems into clear, manageable steps, focusing on understanding rather than memorising methods. Lessons typically last 1 hour and are aimed at National 5 and Higher students. As a First-Class MEng Aeronautical Engineering graduate, I have a strong mathematical background and experience leading and supporting other students through university engineering projects. My goal is to build confidence, identify areas for improvement and help students become independent problem-solvers.
