About Benjamin
I’m a music producer and First-Class Honours Music Production graduate with many years of experience creating electronic music, working with artists and performing live.
Music production has been a major part of my life, and over the years I’ve experienced the same challenges most producers face – from learning the technology and developing my sound to getting stuck on tracks and wondering why a mix doesn’t quite work.
That experience is a big part of why I enjoy teaching. Production can seem incredibly complicated when you’re starting out, and sometimes one clear explanation or a different way of looking at a problem can unlock something you’ve struggled with for weeks.
I’m passionate about electronic music, sound design and the creative possibilities of technology, but I’m equally interested in helping people find their own musical identity. I want my students to leave lessons feeling inspired, more capable and excited to get back to making music.

My lessons are practical, relaxed and built around the music you want to create. Rather than following a rigid formula, I first establish your current level, your goals and where you’re getting stuck, then tailor each session around you.
We can work directly inside Ableton Live, either building a track from scratch or working on your own projects. Lessons can cover workflow, drum programming, basslines, synthesis, sound design, arrangement, EQ, compression, effects, mixing and finishing tracks.
I believe the best way to learn production is by actually producing. I’ll explain the principles behind what we’re doing, demonstrate techniques, and then help you apply them yourself so that you understand not just what to do, but why.
Beginners are very welcome. If you’ve never used Ableton before, we can start from the fundamentals and progress at your pace. If you already produce music, we can focus specifically on the areas preventing you from moving forward.
Most importantly, I’m not here to make your music sound like mine. My aim is to help you develop your own sound, improve your ears and decision-making, and become increasingly confident working independently.
