About Teni
Hi, I’m Teni, a friendly, patient and reliable tutor specialising in Maths, Physics and Chemistry. I hold a First-Class BSc in Natural Sciences from UCL, where I focused on Physical Chemistry and Physics, and I am currently studying for an MSc in Science Communication at Imperial College London.
Before university, I achieved top grades in all 12 of my GCSEs and went on to study IB Higher Level Maths, Physics and Chemistry, achieving 44/45 overall. I have experience tutoring GCSE and IB students one-to-one, both online and in person.
I know these subjects can sometimes feel intimidating and confusing, so I aim to make lessons clear, supportive and encouraging. I take pride in being well prepared, approachable and adaptable, and I enjoy helping students build both confidence and understanding over time.

My lessons are structured, supportive and tailored to the individual student. I adapt my teaching depending on what each student needs, whether that means breaking a topic down step by step, working through examples and past papers together, or focusing on exam technique. After explaining a concept or going through worked problems, I often ask students to explain the topic back to me and then try a question themselves while talking through their thought process. I find this really helps to reinforce understanding and build confidence.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes long and may include revisiting class material, practising questions, reviewing homework, or preparing for exams. I am happy to use students’ own school resources, as well as additional materials including worksheets and online textbooks I used in school as well as the GCSE CGP books which I find are a great resource.
My aim is always to create a calm and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing genuine understanding, allowing them to achieve the grades they aim for in their exams.
