About Dan
Alongside my academic experience, I have gained extensive practical legal experience, including working as a commercial paralegal and completing vacation schemes with Travers Smith, Birketts and Charles Russell Speechlys. These roles have given me experience researching complex legal issues, drafting advice and applying the law to real-world problems across areas including commercial property, intellectual property, shipping and litigation.
I also have experience mentoring students, having supported 15 students with personal statements and interview preparation, helping them secure places at Russell Group universities. I aim to bring the same supportive and approachable style to tutoring, while sharing the techniques that helped me achieve a First-Class degree and secure a training contract.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s goals, whether that means mastering difficult legal concepts, improving essay and problem-question technique, or preparing for exams. Drawing on my First-Class Law degree from the University of York and experience mentoring students, I focus on active learning: breaking complex topics into manageable steps before working through questions together and providing clear, practical feedback. Lessons will typically last one hour and are suitable for both A-Level Law students and undergraduate Law students of any year. I can also provide more specialised support with university essays, legal research and dissertations, particularly in intellectual property, copyright and AI-related topics.
