About Avelyn
My passion for teaching organic chemistry began during undergrad, where I served as both a Supplemental Instructor and tutor for Organic Chemistry I & II. I genuinely love helping students make sense of this challenging subject and watching their confidence grow as the material starts to click. Organic chemistry is often seen as intimidating, but with the right approach, it can be both understandable and rewarding.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s learning style, with a strong emphasis on building a solid conceptual foundation before tackling complex problems. I break down difficult topics, like reaction mechanisms, into clear steps by using visuals, analogies, and active recall techniques. Whether we're reviewing class material, working through practice problems, or preparing for exams, my goal is to create an encouraging, judgment-free space where students feel comfortable asking questions and confident in their progress. I also share study strategies that helped me succeed as a student, SI, and now as a dental student.
